EKA Mid- Year Charity Update

The first half of 2016 has seen the EKA team active in fundraising and sporting achievements:

  • Dorian Smith travelled to Cyprus to complete his third marathon (to Celebrate turning 30!) in a very respectable 4 hours and 26 minutes and 15 seconds. His efforts have so far raised £710.00 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
  • Martin Barsely stayed closer to home but successfully scaled Ben Nevis.
  • Zoë Walhiem Completed a 2 mile swim in Lake Windermere in 1.25hrs. Sponsorship for the event raised funds for Macmillan Cancer.
  • As a team, we have continued to sponsor Msizi Africa to aid their sustainable food programme in Lesotho, although we're yet to win the quiz!
  • Jake, Dorian, Matt, Henry, and honorary Team Member Bruce took part in The Capstone Cup,  5-aside football Tournament with Knight Frank to support the work of Land Aid, Cancer Research and Mary’s Meals.

Helping clients make their properties more energy efficient

Our entire approach to surveying is to help clients make their properties more energy efficient, saving long-term cost and environmental damage.

We take that attitude back to our own workplace. We have incorporated a paperless office within EKA, and have targeted 100% recycling of paper and general waste by the end of 2014. This has clear environmental advantages, but also creates greater efficiency and effectiveness in the workplace.

We also encourage our team to travel by bike and train. We use public transport to reach all our London meetings and encourage our clients to do the same.

Charitable Contributions

We also make regular charitable contributions. We are incredibly privileged to be sponsoring Misizi Africa, an orphanage in Lesotho. Misizi Africa works with communities in Africa to support orphans, providing them with a nutritious diet, shelter and access to education. It is an incredible cause and one we are very proud to support.

CRASH Charity

The Earl Kendrick team are very much looking forward to taking part in the Dragon Boat Challenge to support CRASH charity.

Starting early afternoon on June 25th we will battle it out over a 200m race course against around 40 other teams, aiming to become top crews in the industry!

CRASH is the construction and property industry’s charity for homeless people; they offer practical help that focuses on improving the buildings used by homeless men and women.

Help is provided by the charity in three ways:

  • Providing on-site professional expertise
  • Supplying free building materials
  • Awarding cash grants

Your sponsorship of the Dragon Boat Challenge will go directly to homelessness projects that help men and women affected by the experience of being homeless. Thanks to your generosity CRASH can help improve the buildings these people desperately need to address their problems, gain confidence and integrate back into society.

By sponsoring our Dragon Boat Challenge, you are helping to make a huge difference to the lives of homeless men and women throughout the UK.

More information on the charity can be found here: www.crash.org.uk Registered Charity No. 1054107

Testimonials

You should be able to call on us as a trusted partner as a given. See what our clients think:

“EKA have gone from strength to strength, with their experience and expertise shining through in some of the most challenging refurbishment projects our clients have undertaken. One such example is a window replacement project in the heart of Belgravia, where their surveying team - and I mean team - confidently and competently managed the expectations of the headlease board of directors, the freeholder, the local council, the contractor, the client's own property expert...Of course, any good firm of surveyors has an excellent managing agent also managing expectations, keeping all parties communicating effectively throughout what was a project a year in the preparation and a few months on site. The finished project is immaculate and has undoubtedly added significant value to the already much sought-after apartments. ”

Jonathan Channing, AssocRICS FIRPM
Director, Principia Estate and Asset Management

“Earl Kendrick Associates advised us during the purchase of a leasehold ground floor property in Streatham Hill. The service was excellent, fast, and reliable. The survey was of very high quality and provided us with the necessary assurance as the property was in need of significant modernisation. We highly recommend Julian, Ed, the rest of the team at Earl Kendrick Associates and look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Mario A
Private Client

“Earl Kendrick Associates project managed major external renovations to a block of Edwardian mansion flats earlier this year. Julian Davies co ordinated weekly site meetings, communicating well with the building company and residents.  Weekly inspections ensured a high standard of workmanship. He produced detailed weekly site reports. He and his team responded swiftly to emails and phone calls. We would recommend Earl Kendrick Associates and would be happy to employ their services in the future.”

A. Gordon
Director, Shimgrange Limited

“We appoint EKA due to their level of technical expertise and the quality of the advice they provide. This is particularly essential when we are planning the maintenance strategy for large, residential blocks.  The depth of their surveys and comprehensive cost assessments enable us to assess our liabilities and help us to plan the timings and budget for major works.”

Anthony Quin MRICS ICIOB
Head Of Management And Surveying, Residential Land

“EKA have worked for some time dealing with our Licence to Alter applications and helping us to develop an effective in house process.  We spend a morning each month running through the various Licence projects progress together.  Every fortnight they send me a progress tracker in a format of my choice.  In short, I could not ask for a more helpful or efficient approach.”

Rupert Wertheimer BA MIRPM
Senior Property Manager, Urang Property Management

“The major external maintenance project carried out at The Bromptons this year had the potential to be disruptive and have a significant impact on the residents.  Through the comprehensive specification, the advice on planning/phasing of the works and management of the works on site, EKA have assisted in ensuring that the project has been completed to a high standard and completed three days earlier than the 30 week contract programme.”
