Overview

Talk about the tallest residential buildings in London, and St George’s Wharf Tower will often spring to mind. It may be known for a helicopter crash during construction, but the Tower is a hugely impressive structure. It was completed in January 2014 and houses 210 flats over 52 floors, including a swimming pool, gym, spa treatment room, 360-degree full floor flats and even a bespoke luxury five storey penthouse overlooking the Thames.

With a reinstatement valuation of £152 million, it really is pushing the boundaries of prime luxury property in central London. The penthouse suite, which is nearly 600ft above street level, measures at an astounding 24 times the size of the average 3-bedroom home in the UK and with a price tag of over £50 million, it is a genuine example of London’s elite housing. Anyone who has been to Vauxhall in recent years will see the huge wave of development projects reaching for the clouds. I’m sure those at St George would certainly like to think they had a big part to play in this recent growth.

Here at EK RCA we are getting more familiar with London’s skyscrapers, having recently valued the iconic One Blackfriars we will have plenty more to come.
