Wormleybury Manor is a Grade I listed mansion house built by Robert Mylne in 1767 and then further embellished by the well-known architect Robert Adam in 1777. The 18th-century house surrounded by a landscaped park of 57 ha (140 acres) near Wormley, Broxbourne, was rebuilt in the 1770s from an earlier house built in 1734. It is Grade II listed, helped by the garden, which is well known for its historic and rare plant collection. The building was then split into nine luxury apartments in 1996, all of which are unique in their own right.
When valuing a building of historical significance, EK RCA is very careful to make sure all the intricacies are accounted for, after all, to many historical artefacts are considered priceless. However, being the team set out to put a value on it, we consulted multiple entities from conservationists to quantity surveyors, producing a reinstatement value (insurance declared value) in excess of £14 million.
