Senior - Associate Building Surveyor - EK London

Job Overview:

Due to the success of the London EK team, an additional Senior Building Surveyor or Associate Building Surveyor is required to be self-sufficient in managing multiple/concurrent jobs and projects, providing exceptional customer service to a wide variety of clients, and having responsibility for meeting and exceeding billing targets.

Based from our new trophy central London offices in The Building Centre – the home of the built environment! Remote and flexible working very much offered and in operation.

The Role:

The role is to undertake a range of professional building surveying services across a variety of property portfolios for multiple clients, predominantly in the residential sector. As a Senior – Associate Building Surveyor you will be expected to undertake tasks to support the operations of the business, including networking with potential clients and developing different service offerings.

You will be expected to support the development of the graduate members of the team as they prepare for their APC Assessments, and beyond. The position involves regular outdoor work and can be physically demanding. Hours will be flexible and any contract offered will reflect this.

Tasks within this role will include, but not limited to the following:

• Obtaining a clear client brief
• Maintaining accurate records on the practice management system
• Complying with RICS guidance in a professional manner
• Client liaison – both face to face and via Zoom/Microsoft Teams etc.
• Managing the client relationship proactively
• Providing a quality assurance role for the work of team members
• Preparation and issue of reports using company templates according to the corporate style.
• Supporting the business development/marketing team by providing contacts, and input into the fee proposal process, plus active social media presence to promote our services and maintain our profile in the sector.
• The surveying services offered include but are not limited to:
• Defect Diagnosis
• Preparation of Capex / Long Term Maintenance Plans
• Preparing Technical Specifications
• Procuring works on behalf of Client
• Contract Administration (must be familiar with the JCT Suite of Contracts)
• CDM Principal Designer Role; including preparation of Pre-Construction Information and Risk Assessments
• Planning and Building Regulations Applications
• Listed Building Consent Applications
