Type of Works
Party Walls

Overview

The purpose of the investigation was to assess the drawings on site to see if there were any potential discrepancies, determine the notifiable parties affected, also to discover and advise the clients of any potential issues which could be raised by other surveyors involved and therefore delaying the works at a later date. It was also vital to advise the client on which areas they would be granted access under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 and which areas they would need to alter the works slightly or be prepared to enter into a private access scaffold licence.

When carrying out these large scale projects, it is always a good idea to not only do an initial desktop study but to also visit site and assess the issues in person. This helps the clients budget, make decisions based on the information provided and ensures that they are fully prepared when these questions/queries are raised by other surveyors.
